Dr. Phil Dawson is an Associate professor in the departments of Cell Biology and Chemistry at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA. His research focusses on the development of methods for the synthesis of proteins and their use to understand the molecular basis of protein stability, topology and enzyme catalysis. These synthetic protein tools are also applied to the synthesis of bioactive proteins, mimics of HIV gp41 its interaction with the viral membrane. |
