OCTOBER NEWS:
PRE-CONFERENCE UPDATE
Dear Colleagues,
With the meeting now less than 2 weeks away, this will be our final pre-conference update. The full program is now available on the website (www.peptideoz.org/program.html).
Transfers to Couran Cove Resort
We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that once you have made your flight arrangements that it is particularly important if you haven't organised ferry times that you contact Makiko Mead (Couran Cove Reservations Team Leader, Ph: 07 5597 9872: Fax: 07 5597 9010) directly to ensure you have 1) your Airport to Hope Terminal transfers and 2) Ferry transfer from Hope Terminal to Couran Cove Resort organised. Also it is important that they know your flight arrival details into Brisbane or Gold Coast so that they are aware of any flight delays. If your international flight is delayed and you miss your connection please contact Makiko (details above) so that alternative transfers can be made.
Whale Watching
The Whale Watching Cruise for the Wednesday afternoon (leaving around 1pm after the morning sessions) is filling up fast, so if you have not confirmed/paid for your ticket for this event, please do this asap via Dani (DW@asnevents.net.au) as numbers will be limited by the capacity of the boat. The cost of this, including a light lunch which will be subsidised by the Australian Peptide Association, is $95 for adults, $50 for children between 4 and 13 and free for children under 4.
Biopolymers Journal Articles
Istvan Toth and Heather Benson will co-edit a special issue of Biopolymers based on articles presented at the APA Conference in Couran Cove. This follows a successful special issue of Biopolymers based on papers from the Cairns conference that was published in 2008. Please suggest articles suitable for this issue. You are welcome to discuss the publication with Istvan and Heather at the conference.
Internet access
Broadband internet access is available in all rooms. This is not included in your room rate and will need to be organised directly with Couran Cove. Couran Cove also has a business centre on the island which offers access to administrative services including photocopying and local, domestic and international faxing. Personal computers are also available with broadband internet and email access, Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Acrobat Writer, Adobe Photoshop and a CD burner. The Business Centre is open seven days a week.
